For medical doctors with a PhD or dr. med. degree, either ready to start or currently in medical specialist training. Project must be a 5-year project anchored at a Danish university, hospital or other non-profit research institution; applicant's own salary must be covered throughout the project.

For medical doctors/specialist physicians with a PhD or dr. med. who hold a clinical professor position; applicants must remain clinically active (20-50% clinical, 50-80% research) throughout the 5-year grant period.

For medical doctors with a PhD or dr. med. degree, employed full-time as qualified specialist physicians at a Danish hospital, at associate professor level or equivalent; professors are ineligible for this call. Project must be anchored at a Danish institution.

Top-up call open only to current or completed project leads from three prior KIC Mission calls (2020, 2021, 2022) seeking extra budget for connection, synthesis and knowledge utilisation. Requires a consortium of main applicant, co-applicants and a partnering organisation; funding activities must be new, not already planned in the original project.

Supports translational research collaborations between basic and clinical researchers based in Denmark. Open to research leaders at mid-career (Associate Prof.) and established (Prof.) levels.
