Eligibility & scope
For early-career researchers (PhD passed + ≤3 years postdoc, with allowances). Administering organisation must be in UK, Republic of Ireland, or eligible LMIC (not India or mainland China); must be not-for-profit. Applicant must contribute ≥80% research time. No co-applicants accepted. Cannot fund activities involving transfer of grant funds into mainland China. Research must fit Wellcome Discovery Research scope and aim to improve human health.
