For postdoctoral researchers with <5 years mentored research experience at award activation, working at the intersection of cancer immunology and computational biology/data science. Must be conducted at a non-profit institution (US or abroad); no citizenship restrictions. Sponsor must hold assistant professor or higher rank. Proposals must be hypothesis-driven in basic or translational cancer immunology.

Supports postdoctoral researchers in immunology and cancer immunology at non-profit institutions worldwide (no citizenship restrictions). Applicants must hold a doctoral degree by award activation and have <5 years of mentored research experience (M.D.s exclude residency years). Research must be hypothesis-driven and mechanistic, relevant to the immune system's role in cancer. Only 1 fellow per sponsor per round.

Supports outstanding early-career postdoctoral scientists seeking dual expertise in immunology and data science at the intersection of cancer immunology and bioinformatics/computational methods.

Open to registered healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, vets, etc.) of any nationality, but fellowship must be hosted at an eligible UK research organisation. Applicants must hold a completed PhD or equivalent (before award start). Must not have previously secured independence via grants leading research staff. Jointly funded by EPSRC and Japan's MEXT targeting decommissioning of Fukushima and Sellafield nuclear plants. Proposals must address at least one of four fields: radioactive waste treatment, robotic/autonomous systems, fuel debris and materials, or decommissioning technology. Requires UK–Japan research collaboration; fixed start date 1 January 2027. Only UK research costs funded by EPSRC; UK institution must be the lead applicant.

Focuses on aviation non-CO2 climate impacts across three themes: contrail/aerosol prediction confidence, future fuels (SAF, hydrogen, fuel cells), and decision-making support. Royal Society University Research Fellowship (URF) is the Royal Society's flagship early-career fellowship (3-8y post-PhD) in the natural sciences, hosted at a UK or Republic of Ireland institution.

Supports group leaders to develop their research programme and build reputation as world-leaders in cancer research. Eligibility criteria changed: no longer accepting new outline applications from clinicians following the May 2026 committee review.

Supports clinician scientists who have gained a higher research degree and some postdoctoral experience, ready to develop their own research niche. Restricted to clinician scientists.

Open to researchers holding a doctorate or equivalent research experience, based at a UK research organisation (lead organisation must submit). Fellows undertake an 18-month policy fellowship with a UK government host, starting 1 May 2027. Three fellowship tracks: Core (up to £180k FEC), What Works Innovation (up to £220k FEC), and Natural Hazards and Resilience (up to £280k FEC, co-funded by DCMS). International researchers may only participate as project co-leads under the UKRI-RCN agreement.

Horizon Europe RIA under the EU Cancer Mission supporting development of validated microbiome tools for early cancer prediction before disease onset, including AI risk modelling, longitudinal cohort studies, and comparison with liquid biopsy tests. Proposals must address multiple cancer types where possible and collaborate with large cohorts/registries. Lump sum grant; one grant expected.
