For postdoctoral researchers with a PhD in a biological discipline who wish to pursue frontier, interdisciplinary life sciences research in a new country. Applicants must change country, cannot work in their country of nationality or PhD country, and must have at least one lead-author publication. 100% FTE commitment required; for-profit host institutions ineligible.

For postdoctoral researchers holding a doctoral degree in a non-biological discipline (e.g. physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computer science) with little or no life sciences experience, wishing to transition into frontier life sciences research in a new country. For postdoctoral applicants with a PhD outside the life sciences (e.g. physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computer science) who have never worked in the life sciences. Must propose fellowship in an HFSPO member country; mobility rule prohibits prior work/study in proposed host country or with host supervisor. Excludes clinical, pharmaceutical, and applied projects.

Add-on funding for ongoing or recently completed KWF-funded projects (incl. KWF-PPP, TTW Technology for Oncology, KWF-NWO early detection) that have reached at least TRL 3. Open to researchers at Dutch institutions with an ongoing or recently finished KWF drug research project (start ≥6 months ago, end ≤1.5 years before 1 July 2026). Funds access to clinically relevant preclinical models, technologies and expertise (NAMs, PDOs, GEMMs, orthotopic models, CRO collaborations) to improve translational value. TRL ≥3 required; activities must relate to drug development/optimisation, not fundamental research alone.

Add-on funding exclusively for ongoing or recently completed KWF projects to strengthen translational relevance of oncology drug development. Supports training, implementation, and validation of advanced preclinical models; outsourcing to academic service providers or CROs is allowed.

Invites researchers and societal organisations to form a consortium to conduct research on reducing drug harm through effective societal interventions. Part of the NWA programme on drug harm reduction.

Funds academic-led clinical trials (Phase I–III) for new investigational medicinal products in oncology addressing unmet medical needs. Lead institute must be a medical centre or research institute in the Netherlands; public participating parties must be in Europe. Patient involvement is mandatory. Second funding phase of GroenvermogenNL WP2 focusing on liquid hydrogen import/transport/storage, hydrogen carrier conversion, and port infrastructure. NWO funds 51–80% of project costs; minimum 20% co-funding required from private parties or own contributions. Consortium must include organisations with demonstrable R&D activities in the Netherlands. Proposals must be submitted in English via ISAAC.
