BBSRC funds 80% of FEC up to £1.6M; host institution covers 20%. International partners may be included but are funded by their own agency. Proposals must fall primarily within BBSRC's remit. No matched funding beyond standard 20% FEC required.

Gender Equality Grant
CHF 1,000 per 12 months of approved project running time
For female researchers (doctoral or postdoctoral level) employed in SNSF-funded projects or career funding schemes, with ≥60% work-time funded by SNSF (doctoral students exempt from this threshold). Funds mentoring, coaching, courses, workshops, and networking events. Not applicable to Eccellenza or SNSF Starting Grant beneficiaries. No separate application needed; claimed via final financial report.

Environmental Sciences Global Partnerships Seedcorn Fund 2026
NERC seedcorn fund for UK researchers to establish new sustainable international partnerships in environmental sciences. Applicants must demonstrate a new primary international partner bringing expertise not available in the UK. Co-funding options available with FAPESP (Brazil) or NSTC (Taiwan).

Researching ME/CFS Priority Area
Priority notice (active since 2003) encouraging high-quality ME/CFS research applications across any MRC grant or fellowship scheme. Multidisciplinary teams required; patient and public involvement strongly encouraged. Applications in this priority area receive preferential funding consideration when tied on median ranking score. UK research organisations; international co-leads eligible for costs if providing expertise unavailable in the UK.

For researchers up to 8 years post-PhD (12 years for clinicians) who have never held a professorship. Applicants must have ≥2 years' research activity at a Swiss HEI, or be Swiss nationals/hold a Swiss degree. Targets researchers seeking their first independent professorial position in Switzerland. Proposals must not be submitted in parallel with an ongoing SNSF project under evaluation.
