For senior researchers at the consolidation/leadership stage who obtained their PhD within 15 years before 1 March 2026 (extensions possible). Proposals must be written in English. Aimed at researchers with academic qualities clearly exceeding international peer group norms and established leadership/mentorship skills; not for those who have already built an established research group.

For senior researchers (Science Domain) to build their own innovative line of research and develop into a research group leader. Applicants must be affiliated with a Dutch knowledge institution.

For senior researchers in Applied and Engineering Sciences to build their own innovative line of research and develop into a research group leader. Applicants must be affiliated with a Dutch knowledge institution.

For senior researchers in Social Sciences and Humanities to build their own innovative line of research and develop into a research group leader. Applicants must be affiliated with a Dutch knowledge institution.

For senior researchers at the consolidation/leadership stage, with PhD obtained within 15 years before 1 March 2026 (extensions possible). Proposals must be written in English. Applicants must demonstrate that Vici will substantially contribute to consolidating their research group. Hosted at Dutch institutions via ZonMw.

Supports innovation in Health and Sustainability themes. Applicants must be based in Nordic countries (including Denmark). From 2027 onwards, awarded once per year (Spring 2027 next call).

For established researchers or teams pursuing bold, creative research to advance understanding or develop methodologies benefiting health-related research. Lead applicant must be based at a not-for-profit organisation in the UK, Republic of Ireland, or a low/middle-income country (excluding India and mainland China). Permanent/open-ended contract required. Coapplicants may be based anywhere except mainland China.

For adjunct professors (docents) or independent medical researchers with equivalent qualifications who have no research post or employment contract for the applied period. Grant covers researcher's salary and some research costs. Grant paid to employer; researcher must have no other post during the grant period.

For a docent or equivalent independent medical researcher without a research post during the grant period. Covers personal salary costs plus partial research costs. Grant paid to the employer institution, with whom the researcher signs an employment contract. Proposals in Finnish/Swedish.

For accomplished senior-level researchers (docent level minimum) conducting medical research in Finland. Covers research costs and group personnel costs (salaries/personal grants); the group leader cannot pay themselves wages from this grant. One application per call. Grant period starts 1 May.

Supports the transition of distinguished postdoctoral researchers into independent tenure-track investigators in cancer immunotherapy. Aimed at researchers at the postdoc-to-faculty transition stage.

Open to established researchers or teams led by an established researcher based at eligible not-for-profit organisations in the UK, Republic of Ireland, or low- and middle-income countries (excluding India and mainland China). Research must fit within Wellcome's Discovery Research remit and have potential to improve human life, health, and wellbeing across any discipline including STEM, humanities, social science, and public health.

For starting group leaders (senior postdocs, senior researchers, assistant professors) with 4–8 years post-PhD. Applicant must be employed and based in Denmark at a university or non-profit research institution. Must contribute to data/computational science education in Denmark. Covers algorithm/method development and/or applications in life science, health, sustainability, agriculture.

For senior postdocs, senior researchers, assistant professors, or newly employed associate professors aiming to establish or strengthen an independent research group at a university or non-profit research institution in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden. Scope: industrial or environmental biotechnology (excluding plant science/agriculture/food and pharma/therapeutics). Proposals must include a clear biotechnology element per OECD definition.

Supports innovative research in med-tech, industrial biotech, pharma, and quantum technologies with focus on cardiometabolic and infectious diseases, with clear commercialisation outlook. Main applicant must be a senior faculty member or researcher at a Nordic research institution or hospital/clinic, with a proven innovation track record (patents, spinouts). Grant is pre-CVR; companies are ineligible.

Open to UK research organisations eligible for ESRC funding. Single-institution or multi-institution consortia welcome; no size/geography stipulation. Funds one doctoral focal award plus for data-driven social science research, combining doctoral training (up to 8 studentships/year for 3 years) with training and capacity building for mid-career and senior researchers. Partnerships with business, public, and VCSE sectors encouraged.

Funds distinguished researchers (typically 2–3 principal investigators) to collaborate on a broadly defined humanities or social sciences topic at a specific German site, including a fellow programme for visiting researchers from Germany and abroad for up to 2 years. No specific thematic or interdisciplinary requirement. Host institution must be in Germany.

Supports innovative research in agriculture, food, industrial/environmental biotech, carbon capture, nitrous oxide/methane emissions, and quantum technologies with clear commercialisation outlook. Main applicant must be a senior faculty member or researcher at a Nordic research institution or hospital/clinic, with a proven innovation track record (patents, spinouts). Grant is pre-CVR; companies are ineligible.

Co-funded research visits of 3–9 months at US academic institutions for Luxembourgish citizens (pre-doctoral, post-doctoral, and senior researchers). Applicants must be Luxembourgish citizens with proficiency in English. Includes monthly stipend, travel stipend, J-1 visa sponsorship, and benefits. All research areas eligible.

Supports scientific exchange between Luxembourg public research institutions (R2–R4 researchers going abroad; R3–R4 senior researchers visiting Luxembourg). No thematic or geographical limits; secondments to private-sector companies outside Luxembourg are encouraged. PhD candidates are not eligible. Earmarked grants available for collaboration with Quebec, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and UC Berkeley. Covers personnel costs, travel, mobility allowance, and 'other costs' (visa, insurance, childcare).

For senior researchers. Four domain variants: Science, SSH, AES, and ZonMw (Health R&D). Hosted at Dutch knowledge institutions. Enables researchers to build their own innovative line of research and develop their own research group.

Open to non-Portuguese PhD students (€1,500/month) and senior researchers (€2,000/month) residing abroad who wish to conduct research in Portugal in literature, history, or art history, with the aim of producing a scientific article, publication, or academic thesis. Research must be carried out in Portugal. Proposals must be submitted in Portuguese (per the regulation document).

Three funding instruments (Veni, Vidi, Vici) tailored to various phases in researchers' scientific careers, enabling them to conduct independent research. Targets early- to mid-career researchers at Dutch institutions.

For Professors with their own research group, primarily employed in Denmark at a university or non-profit research institution. Covers data science, AI, computational science, and applications in life/health/sustainability sciences. Applicants must be full-time researchers and contribute to educational activities in data science in Denmark. Projects in finance, surveillance, defense, gaming, etc. are out of scope.

For clinical professors who are medical doctors/specialist physicians with PhD or dr. med., anchored at a Danish university, hospital, or non-profit research institution. Applicants must maintain 20–50% clinical responsibilities throughout the 5-year grant period. Institutional support letters from heads of both clinical and research departments required.
