European partnership call focused on pandemic preparedness, building a coordinated research and innovation ecosystem to anticipate, prevent, and respond to infectious disease threats. Transnational consortium required per EU partnership rules.

BE READY partnership call on pandemic preparedness; €850,000 available for Norwegian researchers participating in European research collaboration. Applications must be submitted via the partnership's own platform.

Supports innovation in biotechnology, clinical/translational medicine, endocrinology, food & agriculture, industrial/environmental biotechnology, and infectious diseases. Applicants must be based in Nordic countries. Call opens 1 August 2026 and closes 15 September 2026.

Funds next-generation AMR diagnostics for lower respiratory tract infections. Open to established research leaders / professors internationally. Two-stage process with results announced December 2026 (Stage 1) and June 2027 (Stage 2).

Supports Danish clinical or translational research of high international level involving patients/humans, clinical practice, or established animal models. Host institution must be a university, hospital, or non-profit research institution in Denmark. Only principal investigators eligible; Master students, PhD students, and postdocs excluded. DKK 13.5M earmarked for projects on interactions between infectious diseases and cardiometabolic diseases.

Joint Programming Initiative on antimicrobial resistance. Swiss researchers are fully eligible; SNSF funds the Swiss partner. Transnational consortium required. See national annex of each call for Swiss-specific submission requirements.

FWO co-funds transnational One Health / antimicrobial resistance research for Flemish researchers. ~€350k per Flemish project (2 projects, 3 years). Applicants submit to the call secretariat; FWO selection based on transnational panel ranking. FO or SBO rules apply; SBO spin-off projects ineligible.

Supports innovative research in med-tech, industrial biotech, pharma, and quantum technologies with focus on cardiometabolic and infectious diseases, with clear commercialisation outlook. Main applicant must be a senior faculty member or researcher at a Nordic research institution or hospital/clinic, with a proven innovation track record (patents, spinouts). Grant is pre-CVR; companies are ineligible.

Supports innovative research in med-tech, industrial biotech, pharma, and quantum technologies with focus on cardiometabolic and infectious diseases. Main applicant must be faculty, researcher, or student at a Nordic university, hospital, or research institution. Must be administered by a non-profit; pre-CVR only; clear commercialisation outlook required.

Biomedical and health research (basic, clinical, translational) in neuroscience, oncology, cardiovascular/metabolic disease, infectious diseases, and enabling technologies. Host Organization must be a non-profit research institution based in Spain or Portugal. Applications must be submitted in English. Budget of non-Spanish/Portuguese partners may not exceed 30% of total project budget.

Early-stage proof-of-concept research on rapid, minimally invasive, affordable LRTI diagnostics at point-of-care. Main applicant must be tenured/tenure-track at a European (EU/Schengen/UK) university, hospital, or non-profit, with ≥75% commitment; at least one applicant must be based at a Danish institution. Research must be anchored at a research institution or non-profit; for-profit product development is out of scope. Industry collaboration allowed but industrial partners cannot receive funding.

Funds human-centric mechanistic experimental medicine studies testing hypotheses about disease mechanisms using interventions (compounds, biologics, psychological, physiological, vaccines, immune challenges). Requires human participant recruitment with clinical infrastructure. New Investigator Award track available. Applications in English; UK institutions. No matched funding requirement beyond standard 20% FEC.

One Health Antimicrobial Resistance partnership (successor to JPI AMR). Swiss researchers apply via SNSF under the same requirements as SNSF Project funding. Detailed submission info in the national annex of the call. Call is currently open per the OHAMR website.

Open competition for established independent researchers (not students, postdocs, or database custodians) anchored at a university, hospital, or non-profit in the Nordics or UK. Projects must focus on CMD, infectious disease, or regenerative medicine using data from a shortlisted database. Main applicant salary cannot be covered. A letter of commitment from the database custodian is required.

Main applicant must hold assistant professor level or above at a Nordic institution; postdocs/PhD students ineligible. Co-applicant (optional) may be based anywhere globally but must be in a different country. Scope: AMR novel tools (Theme 1) or pandemic influenza (Theme 2); must be use-inspired. Clinical trials, phage therapy, microbiome, surveillance, and for-profit product development are out of scope.

Open to individuals or teams at any career stage, based at eligible host organisations worldwide (excluding mainland China). Requires evidence of research training and open-source software development experience. Funds development of open-source digital tools for climate-sensitive infectious disease modelling. Grant funds cannot be transferred into mainland China.

Research on cardiometabolic disease (CMD), infectious disease, or regenerative medicine using shortlisted databases. Principal investigators must be independent researchers anchored at a university, hospital, or non-profit in the Nordics or UK. Postdocs and students ineligible as main applicant. Applicant salary cannot be covered. Letter of commitment from database custodian required.

International transdisciplinary research on ecological, evolutionary, and social drivers of infectious disease transmission (humans, animals, plants). UK component funded by BBSRC on behalf of UKRI (EPSRC, ESRC, NERC, MRC). Must include UK and US investigators; proposals submitted through NSF. Focus on quantitative/computational pathogen transmission dynamics; coronavirus proposals encouraged. UK applicants must contact BBSRC Programme Officer before applying.
