First call under the One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (OHAMR) international partnership. Focuses on combating antimicrobial resistance through a One Health approach (human, animal, environmental health). Transnational consortia required.

Joint NL–Brazil (São Paulo/FAPESP) research call on replacing fossil raw materials with circular biomass-derived feedstocks. Two project sizes: small-scale (€140k–€290k) and large-scale (€350k–€700k); NWO/FAPESP fund max 70%, mandatory 30% co-funding from industry. Invite-only call for UK university-led clusters bringing together academia, industry, and regional partners to drive R&D and growth in the creative industries. Proposals must address regional/national impact, include EDI framework, sustainability plan, and governance plan. Project partners (industry, academia, third sector, government, UK or overseas) are encouraged. No institutional matched funding requirement beyond standard 20% FEC.

AGROECOLOGY Partnership R&I call covering Topic 1 (genetic diversity of crops/livestock for agroecological transition) and Topic 2 (farmer involvement and empowerment). International joint call requiring transnational consortia.

Belmont Forum CRA call on ocean knowledge and international transdisciplinary research addressing global environmental challenges. NOK 27 million available for Norwegian research organisations. International consortium required.

Supports creative, high-risk/high-gain interdisciplinary research spanning scientific disciplines and techniques, addressing challenges in health and sustainability. Applicants must be based in Denmark. Focuses on early-stage, untested ideas requiring interdisciplinary collaboration across disciplines, organisations, and national borders.

Project grants (DKK 100k–6.6M) to strengthen STEM teaching quality in Danish vocational and professional education (EUD/EUX, erhvervsakademi, professionsbachelor) within sustainability and health. Administering institution must be a public or non-profit organisation in the Danish realm (Denmark, Greenland, Faroe Islands). Proposals in Danish or English. Pure research projects and research fellowships are excluded.

Fundamental research in natural and technical sciences (physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, engineering) with potential applications in life science, health or sustainability. PI must have ≥80% affiliation to a Danish university or non-profit research institution; applicant's own salary must be covered from other sources. PhD student applications not accepted. Call opens 19 June 2026.

Open to UK research groups and individuals (any career stage, subject to NERC eligibility). Focuses on aviation non-CO2 climate impacts across three themes: contrail/aerosol prediction confidence, future fuels (SAF, hydrogen, fuel cells), and decision-making support. Projects with industrial partnerships encouraged. Up to 6 projects funded; projects must start no later than 1 February 2027. UK host institution required.

Promotes broad research collaboration between Norwegian research communities and societal/business actors on seabed mineral activities and environmental consequences. Norwegian research organisations eligible.

Main applicant must be affiliated ≥80% FTE with a Danish university, hospital, or non-profit organisation. 1–2 co-applicants required (domestic or international non-profit). At least one party must have expertise in synchrotron-based crystallography. Projects must fall within biomedicine, health, sustainability, biotechnology, natural/technical, or data science; non-health/sustainability science must describe potential future applications in those areas.

Funded by FCT under shared management with PRIMA. Portuguese national institutions eligible. Scope: water management, agricultural systems, and agri-food chain incorporating the water-energy-food-ecosystems nexus approach. FCT provides €1.2M total budget for Portuguese participants in transnational consortia.

Directly funded by the European Union and fully managed by the PRIMA Foundation. Supports transnational research and innovation projects among Mediterranean countries. Focuses on water management, agricultural systems, and the agri-food chain (water-energy-food-ecosystems nexus). Consortium of partners from Mediterranean/EU countries required.

Open to established/professor-level research leaders internationally. Applicants must form a consortium with a clear vision and mission. Focuses on industrial and environmental biotechnology — specifically electron transfer mechanisms in hybrid bio-electrocatalysis. Supports Danish and European research ecosystems as a strategic priority of the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

For Professors with their own research group, primarily employed in Denmark at a university or non-profit research institution. Covers data science, AI, computational science, and applications in life/health/sustainability sciences. Applicants must be full-time researchers and contribute to educational activities in data science in Denmark. Projects in finance, surveillance, defense, gaming, etc. are out of scope.

FWO co-funds transnational biodiversity research for Flemish researchers under Biodiversa+. ~€350k per Flemish project (2 projects, 3 years). Applicants submit to the call secretariat; FWO selection based on transnational panel ranking. FO or SBO rules apply; SBO spin-off projects ineligible.

Fifth T-AP international call funding transnational SSH research on societal anticipation and response to future challenges (climate, pandemics, geopolitical tensions, tech transformation). German applicants must hold a doctorate and be affiliated with a non-profit German research institution. Up to 30% practice-led/applied research permitted in the German portion. Transnational teams required.

PhD and postdoctoral (junior/senior) fellowships co-funded by Meise Botanic Garden for collection-based biodiversity and conservation research. Applicants must have Meise Botanic Garden as an additional host institute and be approved but unfunded in a regular FWO call. Supports a single PI within natural and technical sciences at any post-PhD career stage, based in Denmark. Funds exploratory research with potential application in life sciences, health sciences, or sustainability. Two-stage evaluation: first stage is anonymous (ideas only); top-ranked proceed to stage 2 with CV and publication list for feasibility assessment.

For senior postdocs, senior researchers, assistant professors, or newly employed associate professors aiming to establish or strengthen an independent research group at a university or non-profit research institution in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden. Scope: industrial or environmental biotechnology (excluding plant science/agriculture/food and pharma/therapeutics). Proposals must include a clear biotechnology element per OECD definition.

Open to project leaders of Academy of Finland and Strategic Research Council funded projects ending 1.1.2025–31.12.2026, including Academy researchers, clinical researchers, Academy projects, Academy programmes, strategic research programmes, and CoE 2018–2025 leaders. Targets national strategic priorities: data & value creation, breakthrough technologies, health & wellbeing, climate/environment/Arctic, and security & resilience.

For starting group leaders (senior postdocs, senior researchers, assistant professors) with 4–8 years post-PhD. Applicant must be employed and based in Denmark at a university or non-profit research institution. Covers data science, computational science, AI, bioinformatics applied to NNF focus areas (health, sustainability, life science). Must contribute to data science education in Denmark.

Tri-jurisdictional (US, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland) collaborative R&D programme. Thematic areas: Sensors & Sensor Networks, Nanoscale Science & Engineering, Telecommunications, Energy & Sustainability, Cybersecurity, Health, and Agriculture. Researchers must be at mid-stage or senior career level. Each jurisdiction is funded by its own agency (Research Ireland/HRB for RoI; DfE/HSC R&D/MRC for NI; NSF or NIH for US).

Funds urgent data collection and essential initial analysis following unexpected environmental events only. Equipment >£10k not funded; max one proposal per investigator per two-year period. Proposals must be in English.

Supports international recruitment of researchers to Danish universities in natural/technical sciences, interdisciplinarity, biotechnology, and sustainability. Candidates must be nominated by the recruiting Danish university before applying. Only university-nominated candidates are eligible. Applications submitted via the Foundation's NORMA system.

Extension grants for researchers already in the RECRUIT programme, within natural/technical sciences, interdisciplinarity, biotechnology, and sustainability at Danish universities. Call details and guidelines not yet published; opening date unspecified.

Promotes research-based innovation in environmentally friendly energy, petroleum, maritime and transport sectors. Open to companies and public sector entities that are not research organisations.

Main applicant must be an independent tenured/tenure-track researcher employed ≥75% at a European (EU, Schengen Area, or UK) university, hospital, or non-profit research organisation; at least one applicant must be ≥75% employed at a Danish institution. Co-applicants may be global. Industry partners may collaborate but cannot receive funding. Fundamental interdisciplinary research (TRL 1–3) on biological drivers of soil health; no implementation science or translational activities.

The Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) is a European Partnership under Horizon Europe aiming to stimulate and accelerate the energy transition, contributing to the European ambition of becoming a climate-neutral continent. Opening in Q2 2026.

Research on future competence, education and working life, including what promotes learning, skills development, participation and inclusion, and how the education system and labour market contribute to social and economic sustainability. Norwegian institutions eligible.

International transdisciplinary research on ecological, evolutionary, and social drivers of infectious disease transmission (humans, animals, plants). NERC seedcorn fund for UK researchers to establish new sustainable international partnerships in environmental sciences. Applicants must demonstrate a new primary international partner bringing expertise not available in the UK. Co-funding options available with FAPESP (Brazil) or NSTC (Taiwan).

Funds host institutions recruiting independent research group leaders in medical sciences, life sciences, sustainability, or natural/technical sciences aligned with NNF's 2030 Strategy. Supports faculty recruitment across health and sustainability research areas including bioscience, AI, climate, food, and regenerative medicine.
