Stem cell biology grants

Main applicant must be an established investigator with primary employment at a university, hospital, or non-profit research institution in a Nordic country (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Islands). Translational/applied focus on stem cell-based therapies across four themes: allogeneic cell therapy, analytical methods, biomaterials, and clinical development. Fundamental discovery, adult immune cell (CAR-T/NK), and gene therapy projects are out of scope.

For-profit partners may collaborate but cannot receive direct funding (subcontractors excepted).

Supports faculty recruitment across health and sustainability research areas including bioscience, AI, climate, food, and regenerative medicine. Eligibility requirements for recruiting institution, position, and candidate detailed in guidelines. Applications submitted via NORMA system. Open year-round with grants awarded four times per year.

Open competition for established independent researchers (not students, postdocs, or database custodians) anchored at a university, hospital, or non-profit in the Nordics or UK. Projects must focus on CMD, infectious disease, or regenerative medicine using data from a shortlisted database. Main applicant salary cannot be covered. A letter of commitment from the database custodian is required.

Research on cardiometabolic disease (CMD), infectious disease, or regenerative medicine using shortlisted databases. Principal investigators must be independent researchers anchored at a university, hospital, or non-profit in the Nordics or UK. Postdocs and students ineligible as main applicant. Applicant salary cannot be covered. Letter of commitment from database custodian required.
