Open to early-career researchers (PhD or equivalent, up to ~3 years postdoctoral experience) at not-for-profit organisations in the UK, Republic of Ireland, or eligible low- and middle-income countries (excluding India and mainland China). Covers any discipline including STEM, humanities, social sciences, and clinical research aimed at advancing understanding or developing methodologies to benefit health. Applicants must contribute at least 80% research time; health professionals may retain up to 40% clinical duties.

DFG funding for Ukrainian researchers as part of expanded refugee researcher support. European Fellowships require hosting in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe associated country; Global Fellowships require EU nationals or long-term residents conducting research in a third country with a mandatory 12-month return phase. Applicants cannot have resided in the host country for more than 12 months in the last 3 years (mobility rule applies).

Open to postdoctoral researchers of any nationality with max 8 years post-PhD experience. European Fellowships require a host in an EU/associated country; Global Fellowships require EU/associated country nationals or long-term residents working in a third country then returning to Europe. Researchers must not have resided in the host country for more than 12 months in the last 3 years (standard MSCA mobility rule). Open to all scientific fields including Euratom research.

Individual postdoctoral fellowships for researchers up to 8 years post-PhD. European Fellowships are open to any nationality hosted in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country; Global Fellowships require EU nationals or long-term residents for an outgoing phase in a non-associated third country plus a mandatory 12-month return phase. Full-time commitment required; MSCA mobility rules apply.

Horizon Europe RIA under the EU Cancer Mission supporting development of validated microbiome tools for early cancer prediction before disease onset, including AI risk modelling, longitudinal cohort studies, and comparison with liquid biopsy tests. Proposals must address multiple cancer types where possible and collaborate with large cohorts/registries. Lump sum grant; one grant expected.

Funds development of advanced multiscale Virtual Human Twin (VHT) models for cancer research, focusing on cancers with limited treatment options, rare/paediatric cancers, and refractory cancers. Proposals must integrate AI tools for multimodal FAIR data analysis, validate VHTs with longitudinal patient data, and make assets available via UNCAN.eu and the Advanced VHT Platform. Interdisciplinary consortia including clinicians, patient representatives, AI experts, and SMEs are expected.

Horizon Europe RIA under the Cancer Mission calling for development of advanced multiscale Virtual Human Twin (VHT) models integrating AI and multimodal patient data to understand cancer onset/progression and personalise treatments. Proposals must include multidisciplinary consortia (medical, AI, patient representatives, SMEs) and share data/models via UNCAN.eu and the Advanced VHT Platform under open science principles. Clinical studies may be included with a dedicated annex.

Open to scientists, clinicians or healthcare workers based in UK universities, medical schools, hospitals or research institutions. Supports ambitious, long-term programmes in basic or early-stage translational cancer research. Applicants must hold a post fully funded by a national Higher Education Funding Council, NHS or equivalent; collaborative teams and multidisciplinary approaches are encouraged. For mid-career researchers at UK universities, medical schools, hospitals or research institutions seeking to develop independent research programmes in cancer biology. Applicants must hold a salaried independent position funded by a Higher Education Funding Council, NHS or equivalent. Clinical trials, drug discovery as sole function, and early detection/prevention are excluded. Closed scheme requiring prior contact with CRUK before applying.

Open to consortia addressing 'wicked problems' based on NWA-route themes and cluster questions, spanning the full knowledge chain (fundamental to practice-oriented research) with societal partners including citizens. Main applicant must have participated in both collaborative workshops for the relevant theme. Proposals assessed on problem definition, impact, consortium quality, and research quality.

Open to researchers with a tenured or tenure-track position at Dutch universities, UMCs, KNAW/NWO institutes, and select other Dutch research organisations. Supports free and independent technology research with societal/scientific impact; requires a user committee of at least four knowledge users. Not intended for proposals predominantly focused on investments, contract research, or clinical trials.
