Joint call by Novo Nordisk Foundation and Lundbeck Foundation for Research Leaders (Established/Prof.) targeting bioscience, basic biomedicine, clinical and translational medicine. Focuses on research into brain-periphery interactions in health and disease. Applications submitted via Lundbeck Foundation nomination portal.

Part of SNSF Project Funding (Weave/Lead Agency). South African partner must be affiliated with a recognised public higher education or research institution in South Africa. Proposals must be submitted in English. Max 2 simultaneous project funding grants per applicant; at most one may be a Weave/Lead Agency project. Project must start on the same date in both countries; max duration 36 months.

DFG funding for Ukrainian researchers as part of expanded refugee researcher support. Covers living expenses up to €1,000/month per Ukrainian project leader and allows supplemental proposals to include Ukrainian partners in existing German or German-Ukrainian projects. Requires confirmation from Ukrainian university of limited or no salary payment. Open to proposals received up to 31 August 2026.

DFG funds the Ukrainian share of bilateral German-Ukrainian research projects under Cooperation with Developing Countries. German applicants can request up to €1,000/month per Ukrainian project leader for living expenses. Supplemental proposals possible for existing projects. Initiation of International Collaboration instrument also available.

For postdoctoral researchers with <5 years mentored research experience at award activation, working at the intersection of cancer immunology and computational biology/data science. Must be conducted at a non-profit institution (US or abroad); no citizenship restrictions. Sponsor must hold assistant professor or higher rank. Proposals must be hypothesis-driven in basic or translational cancer immunology.

Supports projects integrating health promotion into social initiatives for vulnerable children aged 0–10 in Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. Eligible applicants: non-profit organisations and public institutions only (research institutions may be co-applicants but not lead applicants). Proposals may be submitted in Danish or English. Cross-sectoral collaboration between social and health sectors is a key evaluation criterion.

Main applicant must be an established investigator with primary employment at a university, hospital, or non-profit research institution in a Nordic country (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Islands). Translational/applied focus on stem cell-based therapies across four themes: allogeneic cell therapy, analytical methods, biomaterials, and clinical development. Fundamental discovery, adult immune cell (CAR-T/NK), and gene therapy projects are out of scope.

For researchers who obtained their PhD from a Dutch NWO-recognised research organisation within the 12 months preceding the deadline. Individual applications only (no pairs/teams). Funds a research stay of 12–24 months at a foreign research institute (all disciplines). Proposals must be written in English. Eligible costs: salary, travel, limited research costs; no overhead.

Funds fundamental (Basic Research phase 1) and Credentialing (phase 2) cancer research, including biological mechanisms of cancer onset/progression and psychosocial impacts. Proposal types: Research Project, Consortium, and Unique High-Risk. Submitted via KWF GMS; participating institutes must register ≥6 weeks before closing. YIG proposals must use the separate 2026/YIG call.

Cancer research stipend prioritising research on cancer in children and young people; also supports other cancer research. Open to physicians during PhD work or as a supplement to continued research after PhD. May be used for international stays or equipment.

Open to registered healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, vets, etc.) of any nationality, but fellowship must be hosted at an eligible UK research organisation. Applicants must hold a completed PhD or equivalent (before award start). Must not have previously secured independence via grants leading research staff. Fellowship must be based full-time at host; clinical sessions up to 4/week permitted for relevant specialties. Joint funding available with several charities (e.g. Diabetes UK, Parkinson's UK).

For registered healthcare professionals (including doctors, nurses, AHPs, vets) who hold a PhD received ≥5 years ago and wish to reacquire research skills. Fellowship must be hosted at an eligible UK research organisation; international applicants must hold or obtain UK regulatory body registration. Funded at 80% FEC. Jointly funded options available with named charities. Applicant must intend to be clinically active in the UK during or after the award.

Supports STEM education, science didactics research, and informal science/technology learning experiences for children, youth, and the general public in the Danish realm. Applicant's administering institution must be a public institution or non-profit organisation (incl. universities, municipalities, museums, associations) in the Danish realm. Proposals in Danish or English; commercial purposes excluded. Max 5% admin overhead.

Supports projects strengthening STEM teaching quality and competence development in vocational and professional education (EUD/EUX, erhvervsakademi, professionsbachelor) within sustainability and health in the Danish realm. Administering institution must be a public institution or non-profit organisation. Proposals in Danish or English. Pure research projects and research fellowships are excluded.

For senior researchers at the consolidation/leadership stage, with PhD obtained within 15 years before 1 March 2026 (extensions possible). Proposals must be written in English. Applicants must demonstrate that Vici will substantially contribute to consolidating their research group. Hosted at Dutch institutions via ZonMw.

Funds clinical research (Proof of Concept or Clinical Validation studies) into drug repurposing of existing off-patent medicines for ME/CFS patients in the Netherlands. Applicants must be Dutch legal entities (public or private law). Non-research organisations must provide ≥50% co-financing. Proposals must be written in English.

Jointly funded by EPSRC and Japan's MEXT targeting decommissioning of Fukushima and Sellafield nuclear plants. Proposals must address at least one of four fields: radioactive waste treatment, robotic/autonomous systems, fuel debris and materials, or decommissioning technology. Requires UK–Japan research collaboration; fixed start date 1 January 2027. Only UK research costs funded by EPSRC; UK institution must be the lead applicant.

For senior researchers at the consolidation/leadership stage who obtained their PhD within 15 years before 1 March 2026 (extensions possible). Proposals must be written in English. Aimed at researchers with academic qualities clearly exceeding international peer group norms and established leadership/mentorship skills; not for those who have already built an established research group.

Open to UK research groups and individuals (any career stage, subject to NERC eligibility). Focuses on aviation non-CO2 climate impacts across three themes: contrail/aerosol prediction confidence, future fuels (SAF, hydrogen, fuel cells), and decision-making support. Projects with industrial partnerships encouraged. Up to 6 projects funded; projects must start no later than 1 February 2027. UK host institution required.

Restricted to nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, max 8 years post-PhD. ERDERA Clinical Trial Call 2026 for research on rare/genetic diseases. Focuses on clinical trials. Opened 01 July 2026.

Supports innovative, practice-close research projects on cancer prevention and health promotion with potential population-level impact in Denmark. For early-career oncology researchers within 5 years of PhD (extensions possible for clinical training or parental leave). Project leader must hold a PhD and be employed ≥0.5 FTE throughout. Covers all research phases from basic to implementation. Applicants must be affiliated with a KWF-registered institute (registration required ≥6 weeks before deadline). Proposals must be submitted exclusively to this call.

Proposals must include a development plan with steps, stakeholders, feasibility, and risks. Proof of Concept in Materials Science from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, a major Swedish private research funder. The applicant must hold a long-term association with a Swedish higher-education institution (≥70% of working time in Sweden).

6+ (SSH) call for at least one new NCCR in social sciences and humanities. Director must have SSH background; majority of team of directors and PIs must be active in SSH. Proposals must be in English. Director must hold a permanent position at a recognised Swiss home institution. Home institutions must match SNSF funding. Decision expected late 2027; selected NCCR(s) start first half of 2028.

Joint NWO–FAPESP call for interdisciplinary research on replacing fossil raw materials with circular biomass-derived materials in the chemical industry. Dutch main applicant must be at a research organisation in the Netherlands; São Paulo applicant must confirm eligibility with FAPESP. Mandatory 30% co-funding from a private company. Research must cover multiple perspectives (chemical engineering, economics, sustainability, social, legal).
