Postdoctoral fellowship program in collaboration with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Supports Swiss early-career researchers for research stays in Japan. Mobility/residency rules likely apply.

BRIDGE Discovery is a joint funding scheme by SNSF and Innosuisse supporting projects that bridge fundamental research and innovation/application. Open to researchers at Swiss institutions.

International call under the Belmont Forum focusing on ocean-related research (Ocean 2 theme). Requires transnational consortia; Swiss researchers apply to SNSF for national funding.

Bilateral call between Switzerland and India focusing on One Health research (intersection of human, animal, and environmental health). Swiss applicants apply to SNSF; Indian counterparts apply to their national agency.

Open to all disciplines; applicants must hold a doctorate or equivalent and have a Swiss-link (≥2 years research in Switzerland at ≥80% FTE). Supports early-career researchers leading an independent project and research team at a Swiss higher education or research institution, at assistant professor or group leader level. Extra budget earmarked for outstanding female applicants.

Solution-oriented Research for Development (SOR4D) call, a joint program by SNSF and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Focuses on research addressing development challenges in low- and middle-income countries.

Supports investigator-initiated clinical trials (RCTs and other interventional studies) conducted by researchers at Swiss institutions. Clinical trial / RCT focus; patient-sample involvement expected.

International call focusing on disruptive technologies. Swiss researchers apply to SNSF for national funding within international collaborative projects. Scope covers transformative and emerging technology research.

Bilateral call between Switzerland and Australia focusing on AI-supported healthcare research. Swiss applicants apply to SNSF; Australian counterparts apply to their national funding agency. Requires joint Swiss-Australian research teams.

First call under the One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (OHAMR) international partnership. Focuses on combating antimicrobial resistance through a One Health approach (human, animal, environmental health). Transnational consortia required.

Call under the Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (THCS) or related health cohort scheme focusing on access to care. Supports research addressing healthcare access challenges within the Swiss context.

Call for proposals under the BrainHealth Partnership focusing on brain health research. Open to researchers affiliated with Swiss institutions applying through SNSF.

For early-career researchers (within 4 years post-PhD, or 9 years post-medical exam with ≥3 years clinical work) wishing to conduct an independent project at a Swiss higher education institution. Applicants must have Swiss nationality, a Swiss degree, or ≥12 months research experience in Switzerland. Covers grantee salary and project funds. This is the final Ambizione call before the scheme is replaced by a new postdoctoral funding scheme in 2028.

Available to female researchers at doctoral or postdoctoral level employed in SNSF-funded projects or career funding schemes (excluding Eccellenza and SNSF Starting Grant), and to women at universities of applied sciences without a doctorate. Requires at least 60% work-time funded by SNSF (doctoral students exempt). Funds career support measures such as mentoring, coaching, courses, workshops, and networking events.

For doctoral students employed in an ongoing SNSF-funded research project who wish to go abroad for 6–12 months at a single host institution. Covers travel, living costs, and conference/workshop fees. Applicant must remain enrolled at the Swiss home institution and employed in the SNSF project during the stay abroad.

Open to doctoral students and postdocs employed in SNSF-funded projects who have childcare responsibilities. Covers external childcare costs and/or salary of a support person to allow work-quota reduction. Ambizione, PRIMA, Postdoc.Mobility return grant, and Doc.CH holders are also eligible. Applications submitted via mySNF platform.

Allows researchers with active SNSF project or career grants (including Horizon Europe transitional measures) who move abroad to continue their funding. The project can remain Switzerland-based while managed from abroad, or be transferred to the new host institution. Not applicable to Postdoc.Mobility return grants; salary transfers are restricted for career schemes.
